A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY
The Dabney family settled in Faial in 1806, when John Bass Dabney was appointed US Consul General in the Azores. Three members of the Dabney family (John, Charles and Samuel) successively engaged this position over a century and left a great impression on the history of the island.
The Dabney family left a cultural, political and economic legacy on Faial that is still visible and respected on the island. And so the street in front of the studio and our studio itself are named after them in memory of the Dabneys.
